Get comfortable
with your mouse.
Point, click, move things around. Six small exercises to help everyday computer tasks feel more familiar.
No download. No sign-up. Start slowly, and repeat as often as you like.
LESSON 01 / POINT
Put the pointer in place.
Move your pointer onto the marked document. Hold it still for a moment.
A mouse or trackpad is best for these exercises. Alternative controls practice the sequence, rather than the physical mouse gesture.
A small step is a good start.

Five successful tasks complete a gentle practice session. Mistakes are part of learning.
A GOOD PLACE TO BEGIN
You do not need to be fast.
First, aim for a movement that feels comfortable. Keep your hand relaxed, give yourself room to move, and try the same lesson again before adding the clock.

A few useful things to know
Can I use a laptop trackpad?
Yes. Moving the pointer, clicking and scrolling work with a trackpad. Your device’s settings determine how tapping, secondary clicking and dragging behave. Use your normal setup; you do not need to change it for this site. Read the mouse and trackpad guide.
Can I practice on a phone or with a keyboard?
Turn on touch / keyboard alternatives. You can use buttons to complete the same task sequences. A tap is not a physical mouse click, and an alternative-control result should not be compared with a mouse result. Pointing and double-click alternatives are clearly labelled in the exercise.
What do the results mean?
Accuracy is successful tasks divided by recorded attempts in this session. Gentle practice finishes after five successes. Challenge counts successes in 60 seconds of active time. These are practice results, not an assessment, certificate or hardware test. Different devices and lesson types produce different scores.
Where is my progress saved?
Completed lessons and your best challenge result are saved in this browser’s local storage when it is available. There is no account or syncing. Clearing browser data removes them. The exercise code does not upload pointer movements, results or keystrokes. See Privacy for hosting details.
